RALEIGH, N.C. – The North Carolina National Guard awarded the Bronze Star to a World War II veteran in a ceremony on 75th anniversary of D-Day hosted by the North Carolina General Assembly to honor World War II veterans at the old capitol building here, June 06, 2019.

The NCNG joined lawmakers, veterans and World War II re-enactors to commemorate the 75th anniversary with military performances including the national anthem, color guard, honor guard, military band, and ceremonial recognition of 39 North Carolinians who died during the D-Day invasion.
