Panama City, FL — Lt. John Gibson, command chaplain for Naval Support Activity Panama City is presented the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal by commanding officer Cmdr. Kevin Christenson during an awards ceremony held Friday, June 14, 2019. Gibson was recognized for meritorious service from February 2016 through June 2019 in which he provided pastoral care to more than 4,500 personnel, organized suicide intervention workshops, holocaust remembrance ceremonies, religious cooperation summits, leading “decompression night” MWR events for students assigned to the dive school, and conducting professional and life skills workshops for personnel assigned to NSA Panama City.
